The lake is approximately
2 metres in depth. There are a variety of berths around the lake,
predominately on the western bank. There is good tree cover along
the western and southern shore, affording good shelter from the
prevailing south westerly winds. In 28 years of operating, no
courses have been lost due to bad weather.
We also have a number of
floating interlocking pontoons, which can be used to simulate
harbour complex's etc.
The lake also has a canal with a curved
section, which is very good for demonstrating bank effect. The canal
is also very good to demonstrate ship to ship interaction exercises,
in meeting head to head and overtaking.
We can also produce
current in any part of the lake with a portable current generator.
